Iota Chi Chapter Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Iota Chi alumnae, collegiate members, parents and friends celebrated Iota Chi's 20th anniversary of it's installation at the Capitol Event Theatre, Toronto on May 4th, 2007.

Many alumnae enjoyed renewing friendships as well as meeting collegians. A charity fundraiser for Arthritis Research and the chapter resulted in over $2500 being raised. Pictures to come soon!

Alpha Omicron Pi is pleased to announce the colonization of its 184th chapter at the University of Waterloo on February 4, 2007. This ceremony concluded four days of colonization parties and personal appointments and was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Delta Kitchener Hotel in Kitchener, Ontario.

The colonization process began when Alpha Omicron Pi was invited to colonize at the University of Waterloo after the institution opened for extension several months ago.

The University of Waterloo is one of the leading comprehensive post-secondary schools in Canada and has been named the “most innovative university in Canada” twice over the last three years. The university’s dedication to its forward-thinking mission is evident in its growth of almost 27,000 students in attendance.

The Colonization Ceremony was hosted by Allison Allgier, Vice President of Development, and 17 wonderful women accepted bids from AOII. They are an actively talented group of women with numerous activities, leadership positions, and an average GPA of 3.1. The ceremony was attended by representatives from other Greek organizations and AOII collegians and alumnae from across Ontario including members of the Toronto and London Alumnae Chapters, as well as collegiate members from the Beta Tau chapter at the University of Toronto and the Iota Chi chapter at the University of Western Ontario.

Continuous Recruitment will be implemented throughout the semester and into fall 2007 with installation targeted for November 2007. The next few months will be full of fun, learning and work as the University of Waterloo colony prepares itself to be installed as the 184th chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi. Members will participate in weekly education sessions and sisterhood events, as well as socials, philanthropic events, and a colony retreat. They are responsible for establishing the chapter’s sub-motto and name that will typify the chapter’s unique character. There are also bylaws to write, officers to elect, and procedures to establish. Additionally, a Resident Consultant, Allison Cheung, will stay with the chapter through installation.
